Celeste, Proust’s governess, gives us an intimate look on this man that we will never see, confined in his room by the disease. She takes care of him, writes by his dictation, glues the manuscripts as if she was sewing a dress. With every visit, doctors want to heal him, friends want to see him and read him. But the only thing he wants is to complete his work before death prevails.
